2021年是帕劳的“变革”之年，其政治、经济、外交都呈现出新的发展趋势。政治上，新任总统萨兰格尔·惠普斯领导政府积极推行“新政”，在行政机构、税收制度和教育政策层面推出了系列改革措施；经济上，受新冠肺炎疫情影响，帕劳经济下滑趋势明显，尤其是旅游业备受打击，尽管政府积极采取措施以推动旅游业的恢复和发展，但收效甚微；外交上，帕劳推行积极外交政策，在地区和多边外交领域不断“发声”，积极向美国靠拢。
The year 2021 is a year of “changes” for the Republic of Palau with the new development changes in its politics，economy and diplomacy. In politics，the newly-elected president Surangel Whipps Jr. put forward new policies and made series of reforms in administrative structure，taxing systems and education. In economy，the Palau’s economy，especially tourism，decreased greatly due to the influences of the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of the efforts made by the new government to promote tourism，little was achieved to promote the development of tourism sector. In diplomacy，Palau made its “voices” in regional and multilateral issues and made further “cooperation” with the USA.
