Relationship between China and Pacific Island Countries in the New Era

As early as 2006，China explicitly said that developing friendly and cooperative relations with Pacific island countries is not its diplomatic expediency，but a strategic decision，and that both sides are mutually partners.[1] Since then，bilateral ties have been increasingly deepened and the status of Pacific island countries in China’s diplomatic strategy has been on a continuous rise.
