China and Cambodia are close neighbors, good friends, good brothers, and good partners. As traditional good-neighborliness and friendship at the time of the establishment of diplomatic relations have evolved into a comprehensive partnership and then a comprehensive strategic partnership, the two countries are endeavoring to build a strategic community with a shared future.Non-traditional security cooperation is a crucial pillar of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership as well as an important way to build the China-Cambodia Community of Shared Future. Such cooperation is regional as well as bilateral, with broad space for development. Meanwhile, we should also realize that both China and Cambodia are developing countries faced with many challenges such as governance improvement and geopolitical interference. An in-depth analysis and study of China-Cambodia non-traditional cooperation are not only of practical significance for the building of a closer China-Cambodia Community of Shared Future but also of exemplary significance for the advancement of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation.
