Foreign direct investment（FDI）is the crucial for the developing countries and countries with transition economies as these countries on the way to achieve a sustainable economic growth. Today in the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic，one of the accelerating factor in the transformation of the national economy is to attract and effectively use FDI.This paper examines the determinants of FDI inwards in the Kyrgyz Republic firstly and effect of FDI on economic growth further by employing multiple linear regression model by using Time Series data from 1993 to 2014. According to the study results，the most significant determinants of FDI inwards are GDP，GNI，Inflation，Exchange rate，technicians as a percent of total R&D personnel. There is a very strong positive correlation between FDI and GDP and this relationship is statistically significant for the Kyrgyz Republic.The presented empirical study results have crucial role for policy-makers of the transition economy of the Kyrgyz Republic to undertake the utmost and valid macroeconomic policy in the country to attract FDI.
