Role of Oral Tradition in Mutual Learning Among Civilizations
文章摘要
The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations held in Beijing recently was an unprecedented event. Guests from five continents, including 47 countries in Asia, have come together and held productive conversations about many issues related to Asian civilizations. I have participated in the subforum on “Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Asian Civilizations and a Community with a Shared Future for Asia,” where I gave a speech on “the role of oral tradition in mutual learning among civilizations.”So why is it necessary to raise awareness of the importance of oral tradition? This is because oral tradition is the “old and new” information technology and the “origin of expression culture” of mankind.
