The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations was held in Beijing on May 15, 2019. As a meeting that demonstrates the charm and strength of Asian civilizations to the world comprehensively, it attracted 1,352 delegates from 47 Asian countries as well as other countries and international organizations worldwide. Chinese President Xi Jinping and heads of other states addressed meetings at the conference, which were structured around the theme of “exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future.” The speakers discussed the origin and historical contribution of Asian civilizations and their influence on the future of the world from multiple perspectives, advocating more equal dialogues, exchanges, and mutual learning to advance common development. In his keynote speech entitled “Deepening Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations For an Asian Community with a Shared Future,” Chinese President Xi Jinping noted that Asia is home to one of the earliest human settlements and an important cradle of civilizations. The exchanges and mutual learning between China and other Asian civilizations have boosted the development of Chinese civilization and world civilizations. Today, Asia represents one of the most dynamic and promising regions in the world. As Asian civilizations are increasingly important in the world landscape, the melody of development, characterized by mutual learning, exchanges, and integration, is resonating with the whole world.
