《日本书纪》的双重性格与后世解读:以林罗山为中心

《日本书纪》作为日本古代官修“六国史”之首,记载了自神话时代以来的日本早期历史,其史书性格毋庸置疑。同时,文本内容中的神话传说以及对政治文化的运用还造就了其作为政治和宗教经典文献的“神书”性格。中世以降,《日本书纪》的史书性格衰退,“神书”性格愈加重要,相关注释和研究活动推动了日本神道思想的发展,也造就了“神书”性格的主导地位。近世“神儒合一”大行其道,大儒林罗山开创的以双重性格分立为前提的解读范式与修史活动的复兴相结合,推动了《日本书纪》史书性格的“回归”。

Abstract

Nihon Shoki is the first of the “Rikkokushi” compiled by ancient Japanese officials. It records the early history of Japan since the age of mythology,and its “historical book character” is beyond doubt. At the same time,the myths and legends in the text and the use of political culture have also created its “divine book character” as a political and religious classic literature. Since the Medieval,the character of historical books has declined,and the character of divine books has become more and more important. The commentary and research activities in the Medieval promoted the development of Shinto thought and established the dominant position of the character of the Holy Book. In Early modern period,“the unity of Shinto and Confucianism” has become popular. The interpretation paradigm created by the great scholar Hayashi Razan based on the separation of the duality of characters,together with the revival of history editing activities,has promoted the “return” of the historical character of Nihon Shoki.
