The city’s intercultural communication ability has become an important criterion for global cities. Barcelona，Spain，has always attached importance to cross-cultural development. The newly formulated major practical programs of the 2030 intercultural strategy include：achieving effective equality for all，recognizing and respecting the diversity of cities，creating space and opportunities for positive interaction，promoting intercultural dialogue and communication，and ensuring that all actions are based on cross-cultural principles and strategies. Chinese cities should also firmly establish cross-cultural thinking，formulate cross-cultural strategies，improve urban cross-cultural capabilities，and focus on community practice of cross-cultural programs.
