The digital transformation of small and medium-sized cities is becoming a new field for global governments and enterprises to explore in-depth cooperation. It is also an important way to effectively break through development bottlenecks，enhance competitiveness all-round and realize the sustainable development for small and medium-sized cities. In May 2022，the World Economic Forum launched “shaping the future of small and medium-sized cities：A Framework for digital transformation”，based on extensive research worldly，the paper systematically summarizes the driving forces，challenges，transformation ideas，practice models and implementation subjects in the process of digital transformation in small and medium-sized cities，which will provide important references for China’s small and medium-sized cities to speed up the digitization process，realize the integrated development of people-producing-city and achieve “curve overtaking”.
