The construction of Chinese major in University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania is still in its infancy. Similar to other African countries，there are the following contradictions in the process of construction and development of Chinese BA Program in the University：the contradictions between the promotion of major construction by China and local approval；between enrollment quantity and enrollment quality；between language curriculum and knowledge curriculum；between the evaluation system and the training goal；between high demand and low guarantee，etc. The construction of Chinese major in African universities should timely revise the syllabus according to the actual situation，actively develop local teaching materials，cultivate high-level local teachers through multiple channels，and support primary and secondary schools to set up Chinese courses in order to obtain more students with Chinese foundation.
