Since 2017，Anhui Province has promoted rural governance with village regulations and folk conventions，which is practiced throughout the province，and conducted a Big Examination campaign for its evaluation. Village regulations and folk conventions have various manifestations，with increasing legitimacy in content，greater relevance in its targets，and stronger enforcement in specific areas. In terms of governance effectiveness，it has promoted the grassroots autonomy system under the leadership of the Party organization，the progress of rural culture，the improvement of the ecological environment，as well as the country’s grassroots governance capabilities. The principle of Two Conformities，and the mechanism of Three Treaties are established at village level，and the important experience of scientific planning and guidance of Party committees and governments at all above-village levels has been formed. In the future，multiple measures such as conducting regular revisions and evaluations，strengthening legal reviews，and smart village construction will be adopted to improve the legitimacy of village regulations and folk conventions，increase awareness of villager participation，expand the enforcement of village regulations and folk conventions，and establish their authority.
