The relationship between the Philippines and Australia is an important set of bilateral relations between the ASEAN countries and the neighboring regional power-Australia. For decades, the relationship between the Philippines and Australia has largely operated under the background of the US-centric Asia Regional Alliance spokes system. In general, the diplomatic activities between the two countries is centered on the US,and bilateral relations have developed steadily and gradually, making the Philippines-Australia bilateral relationship sufficiently independent. Although the Philippine-Australian bilateral relationship lacks a solid economic foundation, the Philippines and Australia are still expected to maintain the existing development trajectory of political, economic, and security relations.
