As the urban digital transformation continues to deepen，the amount and the computing demand for public data will increase significantly. The government data centers will play an increasingly important role in digital transformation，and the carbon emissions will also increase significantly. Compared with the commercial data center，the government data center started late and is still not perfect in terms of energy-saving cost and green design and construction standards. Resulting in high energy consumption and waste in many places of government data centers. In recent years，with the continuous proposal of carbon neutrality，local governments have begun to pay attention to the green energy conservation of government data centers. Strengthening the system design，technology research and mode exploration of energy-saving and low-carbon government data centers will be beneficial to the cost reduction and efficiency increase of government green data centers and enhance the sustainable development capacity. This paper analyzes the development of green data centers of local governments in China，sorts out the development problems and trends，and gives countermeasures and suggestions.
