Due to the COVID-19,Brazil’s overall economy shrank in 2020:the GDP fell by 4.1%;exports fell by 6.9% and imports fell by 10.4%;the unemployment rate hit an all-time high of 13.5%;inflation rose to 4.5%;and fixed capital investment decreased slightly to 16.4% of GDP;the scale of foreign direct investment fell sharply by 50.6%;and the size of debt and the primary fiscal deficit both hit new highs. Firstly,the article briefly summarises Brazil’s macroeconomic situation in 2020. Secondly,it reviews Brazil’s macroeconomic overview in recent years,and retrospects to its fiscal and monetary policies. Thirdly,this paper discusses Brazil’s external trade and attracts foreign investment,and focusses on the analysis of Brazil’s economic and trade cooperation with China. Finally,considering the external environment and the impact of the coronavirus,this paper have a brief outlook on the Brazil’s economic situation.
