There has been a long tradition of more than friendship between our two regions, China and the Pacific. Today, there are more than 1200 languages considered part of the Austronesian family, spoken by 350 million people, all carrying this heritage of a common cultural and linguistic ancestry. Since then, this ocean has developed as both a hub of foreign exchanges and recently of greed and fear.
