During the Cold War，Australia followed the United States in the Vietnam War. After the war，the two sides soon resumed normal relations. With the development and changes of the international pattern and the security situation in the Asian Pacific region，the foreign relations and security policies of the two countries are also constantly adjusted. In recent years，the relationship between Australia and Vietnam is gradually getting closer，and the two countries have increasingly frequent contacts in economic and trade cooperation，high-level visits and cultural exchanges.
