In 2019，China’s consular protection mechanism continued to develop and played an important role in overseas public security governance. Through the prevention mechanism，MFA and other relevant parties issue overseas safety early warning information，organizing various forms of overseas safety publicity and training activities and carry out safety inspections，so that the public can understand the overseas security situation，establish overseas security risk prevention awareness，learn the way of the basic overseas security protection，identify potential security risks，avoiding or minimizing the occurrence of overseas security incidents. Through the emergency management mechanism，the relevant departments coordinate and cooperate to reduce the loss as much as possible，and effectively maintain the life，health and property safety of overseas citizens. Due to the “contradiction between supply and demand” in China’s consular protection，improving the prevention mechanism and strengthening the emergency management mechanism will still be the two main lines of development in the future.
