The global digital economy benchmark city is the direction of the global digital economy and urban innovation and development in the digital age. It has a profound theoretical foundation，distinct characteristics of the times and rich academic connotations. Taking the world as the coordinate，this chapter reveals the trends，laws and general characteristics of the emergence and development of global digital economy benchmark cities from the perspectives of economic drive，technology drive and urban evolution drive，analyzes the theoretical connotation of global digital economy benchmark cities，and builds a global digital economy benchmark city.
