In 2021,the Italian economy achieved a relatively strong recovery, the employment situation improved, and both the people’s income and social consumption increased. However, problems such as the enlargement of extremely poor groups and the soaring energy prices still need to be solved. Through diversified social assistance measures,Draghi government has continued to support residents and enterprises in difficulties and safeguarded the employment. Meanwhile,it has assisted families, improved people’s livelihood, and thus contributed to social stability. Due to regional political instability, irregular migration has once again taken center stage. Not only have the ranking of the main countries of origin changed, but the number of migrants has also surged. Particularly noteworthy is the rise of a new migrant route. In this regard, the Italian government has strengthened cooperation with the countries of origin and embarkation of migrants, and it has also actively adopted a new emergency method named On-Board Quarantine, which has properly helped to migrant resettlement and effectively prevented large-scale imported infections. Moreover,Draghi government has insisted on implementing Green Pass across the country, which has virtually promoted COVID-19 vaccination, boosted pandemic prevention and control, and therefore laid good basis for the full recovery of Italian economy and society in the future.
