With the rapid popularization of mobile devices, government apps are increasingly becoming one of the important forms of public services delivered by the government. The existing evaluation of government apps is mainly based on the method of the objective index system, but the subjective evaluation for users are seldom discussed. Survey data from 27 major cities in China were collected and used to measure user satisfaction of government apps, the key variable of this study, and explore its influencing factors. Research results show that the satisfaction of China’s government app service in 2018 was generally good, with an average score of 3.5 to 3.7 (values are between 1 and 5). Besides, statistical analysis shows that the higher the performance the government apps have, specifically, the better the usefulness, convenience and protection of user information are,the higher the user satisfaction with the public services will be. Additionally, the more the public trust in the information and services provided by local governments and the Internet, the more satisfied they will be with the service provided by the government apps. The above findings indicate the dual dimensions of the factors influencing the satisfaction of service provided by government apps:app performance and government operation, which also provides direction for the development of government apps in the future.
