伴随美国政府近年来对华政策的深刻调整，中美关系进入新的历史转折点。基于华中科技大学国家传播战略研究院“寰球民意指数（2020）”调研数据，本研究从中国公众对美国的基本认知、社会文化交流认知以及热点议题认知三个维度探讨了中国公众对美国的国情、政治人物、国际地位、大国关系等方面的看法和评价，较为客观地勾勒出中国人眼中的美国形象。研究发现，中国公众对于美国综合国力持有积极的态度，认为美国在政治、经济、军事与科技领域仍然处于世界前列；受访者强烈感受到中美关系对于世界格局的重要影响，认为未来中美经济贸易摩擦的可能性增强；对美国总统特朗普的评价，中国公众总体持消极态度；在中国面向大国复兴的成长进程中，美国是对中国威胁最大的国家。
With the profound adjustment of the U.S. government’s policies towards China in recent years，Sino-U.S. relations have entered into a new historical turning point. Based on Global Opinion Index （2020） survey data，the study discusses the Chinese public’s views and evaluation of the US national conditions，politicians，international status，relations of power，etc，so as to outline a more objective national image of United States. The result found that Chinese people has a positive attitude towards the comprehensive national strength of the U.S.，believing that the U.S. is still leading the world in the political，economic，military and scientific fields；the US has a strong appeal to Chinese people and is one of countries they mostly interested in. Meanwhile，respondents strongly emphasize the importance of Sino-US relations to the world and worry that economic friction between China and the US is more likely to occur in the future. Generally，respondents’ impression of President Trump is negative. In the process of China’s rise as an emerging force，the U.S. is regard as a hegemonic country that poses the greatest threat to China.
