东北亚地区是全球政治、经济、安全局势的一个缩影，也是中国发展周边关系的重要方向。政治外交方面，2021年以元首外交为引领，多层次外交相配合，中国与东北亚国家间的政治外交关系稳步发展。地区经济合作方面，域内经济呈现恢复性增长态势，经贸往来整体向好，区域经济合作不断深化。地区安全方面，朝鲜半岛问题出现边缘化、手段化趋势，美日韩军事同盟针对中国的意味增强，北方四岛问题继续影响日俄关系。生态环境合作方面，以中国经验推动生态环境合作成为东北亚地区合作新亮点。
The Northeast Asian region is an epitome of the world political，economic and security situation. And the Northeast Asian region is an important direction of China to develop peripheral relations. In 2021，China-Northeast Asian relations in the respect of politics and diplomacy developed steadily. In terms of regional economic cooperation，the regional economic situation showed restorative growth. Economic and trade exchanges improved as a whole. And the regional economic cooperation has been deepened. In terms of regional security，there was a trend of marginalization on the Korean Peninsula issue. The military alliances of the United States，Japan and South Korea were increasingly aimed to China. And the issue of the four northern islands continued to hinder Japan-Russia relations. In terms of eco-environmental cooperation，China’s experiences and advantages in eco-environmental governance were prominent，and promoting environmental cooperation has become a new highlight of cooperation in the Northeast Asian region.
