Politically，2020 saw turbulences in Estonia，and several ministers resigned. In economic terms，Estonia’s economy shrank by 2.9 percent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In diplomatic activities，Estonia became a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2020，and successfully hosted the fifth summit of the Three Seas Initiative. In relations with China，the Intelligence Service’s annual report highlighted “China threat” for the first time.
