New York City （NYC） has achieved economic growth for ten consecutive years，and digital technology is playing an increasingly important role in the economic development of NYC. Typical digital economy industries and unicorn companies have developed rapidly，which has greatly promoted the development of NYC’s digital economy. The New York City government has played a vital role in the development of the digital economy，including digitally upgrading the infrastructure，making a series of plans，and launching various investment projects. This article describes the digital economy in NYC from four aspects：an overview of the digital economy in NYC，the competitiveness of NYC’s digital economy，policy initiatives，and prospects for the development of NYC’s digital economy.
