2019年，葡语国家经济发展整体上呈低速增长态势，对外贸易额下降，大宗商品国际价格走低是原因之一。然而，葡语国家吸引外资逆势增长。中国与葡语国家进出口商品总值小幅增长。2019年，葡语国家人口达到3.08亿人。2020年，受新冠肺炎疫情的影响，葡语国家国内生产总值出现前所未有的大幅下跌。大部分国家采取超常措施应对疫情，社会基本保持常态运行。中国与葡语国家展开抗疫合作，向葡语国家提供多批次抗疫物资和疫苗援助。
Em 2019，a economia dos países de língua portuguesa（PLP）manteve，em geral，um crescimento modesto，enquanto o volume do comércio exterior desceu e os preços internacionais das commodities continuaram a cair. No entanto，os PLP atraíram mais investimento estrangeiro e o valor total das trocas comerciais entre a China e os PLP aumentou moderadamente. No mesmo ano，a população dos PLP continuou a crescer，chegando até às 308 milhões de pessoas. Em 2020，afetado pela pandemia de COVID-19，o PIB dos PLP viveu uma queda sem precedentes. A maioria dos PLP tomaram medidas extraordinárias no combate à pandemia e mantiveram operação social normal. However，Portuguese-speaking countries attracted more foreign investment，and the total value of imports and exports between China and Portuguese-speaking countries increased slightly. In 2019，the population of Portuguese-speaking countries continued to grow，reaching 308 million. In 2020，affected by the COVID-19 pandemic，the GDP of Portuguese-speaking countries experienced an unprecedented drop. Most Portuguese-speaking countries took extraordinary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic，therefore maintained normal social operation. China established anti-epidemic cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries and provided them with anti-epidemic supplies and vaccine assistance.
