Japan and Thailand have a long history of economic and trade exchanges.During World War II，Japan formed a military alliance with Thailand and made Thailand a logistic base for Japan's invasion of Southeast Asia，by using the contradiction among Thailand，Britain and France，as well as its superior geographical location.After World War II，restricted by the “Peace Constitution”，Japan lost its status as a political power.Thus，Japan vigorously developed its relations with Southeast Asian countries through economic cooperation.Thailand was an important country in Japan's Southeast Asian cooperation network.Japan-Thailand economic cooperation has achieved remarkable achievements from trade and investment to official development assistance.It can be said that Japan-Thailand economic cooperation is the epitome of Japan's economic cooperation with Southeast Asia，covering the adjustment of Japan's national interests and changes in its diplomatic strategy.This paper explores the development process of Japan-Thailand economic cooperation and analyzes its unique model and outstanding achievements，in order to provide reference for China-Thailand economic cooperation.
