At present，the world’s advanced technology of heavy-duty gas turbine is still monopolized by a few enterprises such as General Electric of the United States，Siemens of Germany and Mitsubishi of Japan. China’s heavy-duty gas turbine still has many key core technologies to be broken through. There is a risk of being “stuck” in many fields such as design，manufacturing，commissioning，operation and maintenance，and a complete independent and controllable heavy-duty gas turbine industrial system has not been formed. There are the following problems in China’s heavy-duty gas turbine industry chain：first，the infrastructure construction such as gas turbine research，design and test lags behind for a long time；second，the foundation of many basic sciences and disciplines involved in gas turbine technology is relatively weak；third，there are too many historical debts due to the error of industry development strategy and development path. In order to make up for the defects and shortcomings of China’s heavy-duty gas turbine industry chain，it is urgent to do well in three aspects：Firstly，make full use of the advantages of the new national system to jointly tackle key problems；secondly，actively carry out international cooperation to improve the independent innovation system；third，formulate more favorable policies to promote the development of heavy gas turbines.
