中国-中南半岛经济走廊是“一带一路”建设的六大经济走廊之一，现阶段中国与中南半岛国家之间已基本建立了较为完善的立体化互联互通网络体系，进一步深化中国与中南半岛六国的经贸合作是当前推进经济走廊建设的主要任务。昆曼经济带建设可以通过陆路纵深的方式，推进中南半岛经济走廊建设的中心突破，从而实现对越缅的两翼辐射。昆曼经济带建设以昆曼大通道为依托，以国际产能合作和区域价值链构建为手段，促进中老泰三国产业协同发展，推进次区域经济一体化发展，进而提升我国西南省区的对外开放与合作能力。
Being one of the six economic corridors of “the Belt and Road” Initiative，the Indochina Economic Corridor is based on the multi-level connectivity system between China and countries in the peninsula and expected to deepen the economic and trade cooperation between regional countries. Kunming-Bangkok Economic Belt lies in the hinterland of this region and constitutes the backbone of the Indochina Economic Corridor，with Myanmar and Vietnam being the two wings. The Kunming-Bangkok Economic Belt is based on the Kunming-Bangkok highway and the productivity cooperation is linked by regional value chain. Conductive to the coordinated production in China，Laos and Thailand，the Kunming-Bangkok economic belt is a boost to regional economic integration and further opening-up of China’s southwest provinces.
