Since the reform and opening up，overseas Chinese have made great contributions to the construction and development of motherland China and to foreign exchanges and cooperation. Under the changing situations at home and abroad，China put forward the Belt and Road Initiative. A large number of overseas Chinese live in the countries along the Belt and Road，especially in Southeast Asia，which is a priority area of strategic cooperation under the Initiative. Making full use of the resources and influence in local political，economic，cultural and other fields of the overseas Chinese，is of great significance to accelerating the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
