In 2020,the COVID-19 epidemic spread to Northern Europe. Due to different prevention and control measures, the five countries in Northern Europe were affected by the epidemic to different degrees. Among them,Sweden was the country with the highest number of confirmed cases and deaths. Affected by the epidemic, the international population movement in the Nordic countries has slowed down, especially the number of refugee migrants has significantly decreased. Among the five Nordic countries, the decline of refugee reception and approval was largest in Denmark. In the epidemic, immigrants became the “high-risk group”,and the infection rate of communities with concentrated immigrants was significantly higher than that of other communities. Migrants’ vulnerability,on the one hand, comes from their unfamiliarity with the public health system,on the other,is due to their long-term socio-economic disadvantages, particularly overcrowded housing, low levels of employment and high rates of unemployment. Affected by the epidemic, the five Nordic countries all experienced negative economic growth and increased government public debt. In addition, cultural conflicts under epidemic prevention and control have brought about the destruction of social security, and the debate on immigration issues has produced partisan opposition. In the future, the immigration policies of the Nordic countries, especially the refugee policies, will be further tightened. In addition to reducing immigration, the Nordic countries need to invest more resources to promote the integration of immigrants.
