In November 2020，the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership（RCEP）was officially signed，which marked the entry of a new stage of regional economic integration in East Asia. As the world’s largest free trade area，the RCEP is a modern，comprehensive，high-quality and mutually beneficial regional free trade agreement led by ASEAN. Among the RCEP economies，ASEAN plays a pivotal role in its overall economy. It is an important node of the value chain and production network in East Asia，and RCEP plays an irreplaceable role in ASEAN’s external economic pattern. After the completion of the RCEP Free Trade Area，it will contribute to the economic growth and recovery of ASEAN countries in the post-epidemic era，promote industrial transformation and market opening，accelerate the integration into the global value chain and regional production network，and further enhance the level of ASEAN regional economic integration.
