Under the global epidemic,Southeast Asian countries have maintained a relatively stable political situation. Thailand,Indonesia and the Philippines have experienced political stability and maintained policy continuity after the 2019 general and midterm elections. In 2020,both Singapore and Myanmar held general elections in the midst of the epidemic,and both the People’s Action Party of Singapore and the National League for Democracy of Myanmar won and continued to govern. Some countries have seen political fluctuations,increasing political instability. With the global spread of the new epidemic,the economic growth of Southeast Asian countries has plummeted,and many of them have fallen into economic recession,which has had a serious impact on the development of Southeast Asia in the short and medium term. The year 2020 marks the fifth year that ASEAN has entered the era of community. ASEAN continues to push forward its community building towards 2025 and has made new progress.
