Due to the ineffective fight against the guerrillas and the limited coverage of the anti-pandemic program，the relation between the Abdo government and the opposition worsened and public dissatisfaction increased. The spread of COVID-19 and forest fires led to a slight contraction in economic growth，but foreign investment and foreign trade in agricultural products improved，and the overall economic situation was becoming optimistic. The social problems were still severe and the gap between the rich and the poor was widened. The national poverty reduction plan launched in October was praised by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. In terms of diplomacy，it maintained good diplomatic relations with neighboring countries as well as developed countries such as the United States，European countries. It continued to have strong trade ties with China.
