HPR1000 is a major achievement of the development of China’s nuclear industry，and also an important symbol of China’s progress from a nuclear giant to a nuclear power. This paper mainly reviews the development of HPR1000 technology research and development，engineering design and construction，fuel development and other fields，and summarizes the main experience of HPR1000 technology innovation and project implementation in vigorously developing coordination，independent innovation，open cooperation，party building leadership，etc. It is suggested that the successful research and development of HPR1000 and the smooth implementation of the project are of great significance for promoting the development level of China’s nuclear power into the forefront of the world，driving the upgrading of the industrial chain and equipment manufacturing industry，and supporting the implementation of the “Go Global” strategy of nuclear power.
