The activities of Chinese Catholics in Maritime Asian were an important aspect of history concerning Catholicism and Chinese overseas in early modern period. Chinese Catholics’ missionary activities promoted the development of the Catholicism,and they served as roles of the middleman,such as the guides,ministers and interpreters,on account of the same faith,language and profit. Being Catholic was one of the important ways to adapt and expand living space for overseas Chinese businessman and craftsmen. They played an important role in the process of cultural dissemination and exchange between the East and West. On the whole,the activities of Chinese Catholics were trans-regional and cross-ethnic. Chinese Catholics had access to vast social networks,and Chinese were more confidently to adapt to cross-border and diverse cultural environment.
