Since the COVID-19 pandemic began spreading globally, the Arctic has not been spared. Following the outbreak, the Arctic Council has issued senior official briefings and the Arctic countries have adopted travel restrictions and other prevention efforts. The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching educational, economic, military, and scientific implications for the Arctic region. While vaccinations are already underway, the Arctic is still facing a shortage of vaccines. The epidemic has exposed a series of problems in countries and the Arctic region in terms of vaccination and economic, educational, military, scientific and technological resilience, and has brought new development opportunities for some new industries such as online education, logistics, and networking. In the post-epidemic era,Arctic countries should focus on the outstanding problems of Arctic governance under the challenges of the epidemic, strengthen cooperation in health, science and other related fields, and jointly promote the development and prosperity of the Arctic region.
