2020年是全面建成小康社会的决胜之年。嘉峪关市全面建成小康社会的基础较好、实现程度较高，主要表现在经济发展稳步提升、人民生活水平全面提高、民主法治更加健全、文化建设显著增强等方面。针对第三产业占比小，文化产业未成规模，高技术产业数量少、总量低等问题，下一步还需要在优化经济结构、发展战略性新兴产业、持续强化生态环境建设方面下功夫。
By 2020，Jiayuguan City will have a good foundation for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way，with a high degree of realization，which is mainly reflected in the steady improvement of economic development，the overall improvement of people’s life，the more sound democracy and the rule of law，and the significant improvement of cultural construction. In view of the small proportion of the tertiary industry，the scale of the cultural industry，the small number of high-tech industries and the low total amount，we need to optimize the economic structure，develop strategic emerging industries and continuously strengthen the construction of ecological environment.
