2020年，嘉峪关市农业农村工作在产业结构优化、规模优势凸显、经营方式转变、乡村旅游发展等方面取得积极成效，但存在特色优势产业培育不足、龙头企业带动作用弱、农产品品牌影响力不强等问题。2021年，嘉峪关市应从加大特色优势产业培育力度、加快推进设施农业建设、持续推进重点项目建设、有效提高农业现代化程度、夯实乡村振兴基础、推进乡村宜业宜居等方面加快推进农业农村现代化发展。
