近年来德国对东南亚国家的投资和贸易额逐年上升，目前已经是东南亚各国在欧盟内的最大贸易伙伴。德国在东南亚各国的投资既包括传统领域，也在可再生能源和环保等德国具有技术优势的新兴领域展开。而反恐、难民和维持地区稳定需求的增加也促进了德国与东南亚各国的政治交流。德国发展与东南亚国家的经贸关系符合德国应对全球问题的需要，且有利于输出德国的意识形态和全球治理模式。
Germany’s trade with Southeast Asian countries has in recent years grown rapidly and continuously. Germany has become the largest trading partner of Southeast Asian countries in the EU. It invests not only in traditional industries，but also in renewable energy and environmental protection，where it has technical advantages. Apart from this，cooperation on anti-terrorism，refugee issues and the maintenance of the status quo in the region help to promote political relations between Germany and Southeast Asian countries. Adequately coping with the challenges of the world，Germany’s development of its economic and political relations with Southeast Asian countries is favorable for the exportation of German ideology and ways of global governance.
