In 2020，the mergers and acquisitions market scale in China’s information technology industry shrunk sharply. Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic，the number of mergers and acquisitions transactions in the information technology industry was low in the first three months of 2020. The transaction volume started to pick up in the fourth month of 2020 but then declined. Overall，in the first ten months of 2020，the scale of mergers and acquisitions transactions declined by 13.87% compared to 2019. In the information technology industry，the software and digital services businesses were featured by large numbers of mergers and acquisitions transactions，low transaction value，and a high proportion of intra-industry mergers. The most impactful mergers and acquisitions cases in the information technology industry in 2020 were Ta&A Ultra Clean Technology Co.，Ltd.’s holding of Tianyi Lithium Co.，Ltd.，Jinke Culture Industry Co.，Ltd.’s acquisition of Wanjin Commerce and Trade Co.，Ltd.，and Gome Telecom Co.，Ltd.’s sale of Dejing Electronic Technology Co.，Ltd..
