Based on the relationship between higher education quality evaluation and university rankings,the author employs U-Multirank as the analysis object,and compares it with other famous rankings,such as ARWU,THE,QS. Then,the author argues that the U-Multirank can benefit the higher education quality evaluation in that the evaluation direction changes from catering to conformity,the nature changes from accountability to understanding,the concept changes from unitary to pluralistic,and the practice changes from decentralized to systematic. Accordingly,the implications of the U-Multirank analysis for the higher education quality evalution include the design of a suitable quality evaluation framework,the cultivation of an understanding of the quality evaluation culture,the incorporation of multiple quality evaluation elements and the construction of a well-functioned quality evaluation system.
