In 2009,Martin Hägglund,a professor of comparative literature at Yale University, published a book named Radical Atheism:Derrida and the Time of Life, which caused a huge debate in the academic world.Throughout the current results of Derrida's research, most scholars believe that Derrida's later thoughts have experienced an “ethical turn”.Hägglund opposed this mainstream statement, and he took a different approach and reinterpreted Derrida's thoughts from a temporal perspective, which provided us with a new vision. He pointed out that there never was a rupture in Derrida's thoughts, and the concept of “radical atheism” run through from beginning to end.The so-called “radical atheism” is a critique of the normative ethical ideals and an openness to “the coming of the future”.In addition,it is also a rejection of the concepts of“permanence” and “absolute immunity” and an affirmation of the limitation of life and the “autoimmunity” .
