2019年，中国与太平洋岛国关系处于历史最好时期，政府高层互动不断，来访频繁。中国在南太平洋地区取得外交新突破，先后与所罗门群岛、基里巴斯建（复）交。中国—太平洋岛国旅游年、第三届中国—太平洋岛国经济发展合作论坛等活动成功举办，搭建了对话平台，有力地促进了双方经贸往来和人员交流。中国向建交太平洋岛国提供的资金、技术、医疗、教育等方面援助，为改善当地生活、促进当地发展、应对气候变化提供了重要力量和支撑。“一带一路”框架下的合作项目不断增加，逐步实现发展战略对接，有力地带动了当地经济发展。未来一段时间，中国智慧和中国方案将为太平洋岛国发展提供更多支持和帮助，与建交太平洋岛国的互动、交往与合作将日益加深，参与南太平洋地区事务的能力将不断增强。
In 2019，relations between China and Pacific island countries are at the best level in history. China has made diplomatic breakthroughs in the South Pacific. First，China established diplomatic relations with Solomon Islands and re-established diplomatic relations with Kiribati. Second，China successfully held several major events with Pacific Island Countries （PICs），such as China-PICs Tourism year and the Third China-PICs Economic Development and Cooperation Forum. Third，China’s financial，technical，medical and educational assistance to PICs has provided important support for their development. Moreover，under the “The Belt and Road” Initiative framework，cooperation projects between China and PICs continue to increase. Chinese Wisdom and Chinese Plan will provide more help to these countries，and this will deepen the interaction，cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
