2019年，保加利亚政坛基本保持稳定。欧洲发展公民党领导的执政联盟积极应对欧洲议会保加利亚籍议员选举和国内地方选举，继续在保政坛保持压倒性优势。但多名高官因涉及房产贪腐门丑闻引咎辞职，执政联盟内部的冲突，以及与总统的对抗都使公民党的政治地位进一步被削弱。2019年保加利亚经济保持稳步增长势头，GDP及家庭人均年收入、进出口额等较上一年均有较大幅度的增长。保加利亚高层重视同美国、俄罗斯的关系，同两国高层交往密切。此外，保加利亚政府继续在加入申根协定和欧元区问题上同欧盟开展密集磋商，并成功加入空域申根区。
In 2019，Bulgarian was politically stable. The ruling coalition led by the GERB （Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria） continued to dominate the Bulgarian political life as it managed the 2019 European Parliament election in Bulgaria and local elections. However，GERB’s political position was undermined by the resignation of senior officials over scandals involving real estate corruption，conflicts within the ruling coalition，and confrontation with the president. Bulgarian economy maintained steady growth in 2019，with indices such as GDP，annual household income per capita，and import and export all increasing significantly year on year. Bulgarian high-level officials took relations with the United States and Russia seriously and had close contacts with high-level officials of the two countries. In addition，the Bulgarian government continued intensive consultations with the EU on accession to the Schengen Area and the Eurozone，and successfully joined the Schengen airspace.
