俄罗斯是世界大国，伊朗是中东大国，俄伊双边关系对中东政治格局具有重大影响。俄伊两国都支持叙利亚政府，打击叙利亚境内的极端主义和恐怖主义组织，并在叙利亚问题上，保持着密切的沟通与合作。但与此同时，伊朗和俄罗斯在外国军队撤离叙利亚，以及与以色列和沙特关系上，存在着较大分歧。俄罗斯“世界大国”战略地位与伊朗“中东大国”战略地位的差异，是俄罗斯与伊朗在叙利亚问题上分歧的根本原因。
Russia is a world power while Iran is a Middle East power. The bilateral ties between Iran and Russia are important in the Middle East political arena. Iran and Russia both support Syria government，and two states both launch strikes against extremists and terrorists in Syria. Russia and Iran work closely to facilitate the Astana mechanism and the Sochi mechanism. However，Russia and Iran hold disagreements over foreign troop withdrawal，and over the ties with Israel and Saudi Arabia. The fundermental reason lies behind the rift between Russia and Iran over Syria issue is the gap of international status between Russia’s “world power” and Iran’s “Middle East power”.
