This report reviews the articles in mainstream foreign journals on international relations over the past year,comments on some representative ones to grasp the hot issues and presents the trends in current research. The authors believe that there are several new trends in international relations studies in international academic circles,including rethinking of traditional theories and the core concepts,more attention to the international organizations and their internal structures,the rational investigations on COVID-19’s impact on global governance and the pattern of the world,the comprehension of the Indo-Pacific from the perspective of specific countries,further research of the issues related to China’s development strategy and the rivalry between China and the U.S.,and so on. These new issues and trends are worthy of attention in domestic academic circles.
