Global governance in 2020 presents the following characteristics:great power competition impacts the multilateral order;the United States’s “exit” increases governance deficit;regional integration and bilateral institutions have strengthened;multilateral institutions have weakened;and global health governance capabilities need to be improved immediately. Under the impact of competition between great powers and pandemic, the United Nations and WTO are faced with a certain degree of weakening. Besides, the degree of regional integration and cross-regional cooperation has deepened. In the post-COVID-19 era, global governance will face the challenges of polarization and fragmentation. In view of the performance during the pandemic, regional governance performance need to be further observed. Improving global governance effectively requires coordination and cooperation between great powers that play dominant role. At the same time, cooperation among institutions should be strengthened to jointly respond to global crises.
