马来西亚在东南亚具有重要的战略地位，但一直以来，马来西亚政府的发展重心多以经济为主，对其重视程度优于国防安全等其他领域。作为海洋型国家，马来西亚的防务安全一直倾向于海洋安全，并以此为基础与中国展开了积极的双边安全合作。近年来，跨国犯罪、网络安全等非传统安全问题逐渐兴起，成为影响中马关系的一大因素。在希盟政府首份《国防白皮书》的指导下，马来西亚的防务安全也从传统安全扩展至非传统安全领域，与中国的合作范围有待进一步拓宽。
Malaysia occupies an important strategic position in the geographical location of Southeast Asia. However，the focus of the Malaysian government’s development has been on economic development，which is more important than other areas such as national security. As a maritime country，Malaysia’s defense security has always favored maritime security，based on which it has initiated active bilateral defense and security cooperation with China. In recent years，non-traditional security issues such as transnational crimes and cyber security have gradually arisen，which have become a major factor affecting China-Malaysia relations. Under the guidance of the Pakatan Harapan government’s first draft of the National Defense White Paper，Malaysia’s defense security field has also expanded from traditional security to non-traditional security fields，and accordingly cooperation with China also needs to be further expanded.
