长期以来，洋垃圾对马来西亚影响甚大，牵扯到多方利益，因此，马来西亚各方对洋垃圾问题的看法不同。洋垃圾进入马来西亚的途径较多，原因复杂。前任政府不太重视洋垃圾处理问题，面对这一严峻的环境问题，希盟政府于2018年5月执政以后，在处理洋垃圾问题上采取了一系列新的强硬举措，引发国际舆论热议。马来西亚对于洋垃圾的治理已成为近年来东南亚环境保护行动的重要组成部分。希盟政府重拳出击治理洋垃圾问题，取得一定成效，对本国和外国利益攸关方都产生了一定影响。
For a long time，imported foreign waste has had a great impact on Malaysia. Malaysians have different views on foreign waste，because it involves the interests of many people. There are many ways for imported waste to enter Malaysia，which is caused by complex reasons. The former government paid little attention to the problem. Since Pakatan Harapan came to power in May，2018，Malaysia has adopted a series of tough new measures to deal with the serious issue of imported waste，which has aroused heated debate internationally. In recent years，waste management in Malaysia has become a key component of waste management and environmental protection in Southeast Asia. The Pakatan Harapan government has taken severe measures to deal with imported waste，which has had certain impact on both domestic and foreign stakeholders.
