In 2019,Chile’s political scene is dominated by the start of constitutional reform process,which aims to lay the institutional conditions for the implementation of further governance reform. Regard to the economy,under the double pressure of global trade contraction and domestic social crisis,the main economic activities slow down and the macroeconomic performance tends to deteriorate,as well as the stimulus package issued by the government led to the significant expansion of public spending. In social terms,the nationwide protests in October had a serious chain effects on the political,economic and social ecology of the whole country,highlighting its long-term structural dilemma,especially the uneven distribution of resources,social exclusion and social stratification. In addition,due to the unfavorable domestic situation,Chile,as the host country,announced the cancellation of the APEC summit and the UN Climate Change Conference.
